There seems to be a new schedule for when epic challenges come out on Tuesday and legendary challenges come out on Wednesday. And the legendary ones are much more interesting than they used to be. Is one of them this week? In Weeping Woods, you need to do something with a dead drop.
Here is a map of all the dead drop locations in Weeping Woods. For this challenge, you only need one of these, but there are many to choose from.
So, let’s review:
- A dead end across the river in the far north
- a straight drop northeast of the bridge over the river.
- A dead-end drop to the southwest of the same bridge,
- a dead end in the river’s north bend.
- a dead drop in another bend of the river to the south of that.
- a dead drop in the open space near the buildings, facing southeast.
You can tell them apart because they are blue stumps that glow and have small wheels you can turn. When you do that, you’ll find a top-secret folder inside, and Dr. Slone will send you a message about IO. These seem to be part of an ongoing effort to find out about some kind of IO conspiracy. This week, one of the quests is to talk to body scanners at IO bases, which makes me wonder if we’re trying to get inside their bases.
At least, in this case, these legendary challenges are not any harder than normal Epic challenges since you only have to find one dead drop and use one body scanner. They could, like some of the others, become more difficult over time, but these are not one of them.
I do like the idea of having challenges on two different days and of making the legendary challenges more interesting this season than they were last season when they were simple and dull. I hope this keeps up, and if the last two weeks are any indication, this will be an interesting way to build on the story.
If this schedule stays the same, we might not see anything tomorrow, which is usually a quest day, but I would still keep an eye out. We haven’t always started the season at the same time, but this seems like it might be a permanent change.
