With YYZ Express, a new program at Toronto Pearson Airport, travelers who are leaving can reserve a spot in the security line before their flight.
In response to recent complaints from all over the world, the virtual booking system is being put in place to speed up the flow of passengers and cut down on the time they have to wait.
Deborah Flint, president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, said, “We’re committed to giving passengers digital solutions that make travel more predictable and bring it up to date.”
“YYZ Express is another step toward giving passengers who want it a fully digital experience, so they can move more quickly through the airport.”
With YYZ Express, passengers can make online reservations up to 72 hours before their flight by entering their flight information and the number of people in their party (up to 10).
The system will then show you when you can make a reservation. Once a booking time is chosen, travelers will receive an email with a QR code that they need to show to airport staff 15 minutes before their scheduled time at the security checkpoint.
YYZ Express is free to use, and you can either make a reservation or just show up at the security screening point at the Terminal 1D gates between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. and at the Terminal 3B and C gates between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. every day.
