This week, Club Med went back to Spain for the first time in its history. The first Club Med resort to open in Spain in more than twenty years is the Club Med Magna Marbella in Andalusia.
Henri Giscard d’Estaing, the president, and CEO of Club Med said at the resort’s opening ceremony, “We are proud to return to Andalusia, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, with a new premium resort, Club Med Magna Marbella. This resort is a perfect example of what Club Med has become today after major changes in the last 20 years: a premium, “glocal,” happy digital brand that wants to create more sustainable tourism.
The family-friendly 4-Trident (4-star) resort is at the foot of the Sierra Blanca and has more than 35 acres of gardens and terraces for guests to explore. The 485 rooms have an indoor/outdoor design that was made to show off the beautiful Mediterranean scenery.
The property is close to the city of Marbella, but with two restaurants and three bars on site, there’s more than enough Spanish flair and flavor to make a case for staying at the resort.
Carolyne Doyon, president and CEO of Club Med North America and the Caribbean, said, “With the opening of Club Med Magna Marbella, travelers from North America can discover another authentic European destination from Club Med’s wide range of high-end sun and mountain resorts around the world.”
Long-distance family travel to major European destinations can also be fun, easy, and, of course, all-inclusive, as this new hotel in southern Spain shows.
